In a study done by Richard Sparks and Benjamin Lovett they discover news about the LD community that may come to be surprising. They find out that although, "most students submitted a psychoeducational evaluation, fewer than half submitted a complete evaluation that included an IQ test". What this means for the community is that there may be some individuals who were wrongly classified as not having a LD, when in reality they do. The classification tests are not being completed properly leading to more misclassification. Once a test is properly developed to accurately reflect LD this issue of misclassification can begin to be an issue of the past.
